Alvaro Morata explained how his move to Juventus came about with Bianconeri directors visiting the player at his home in Madrid.

Speaking to  Cadena Ser this week, Morata discussed his move to Juventus, the differences between Madrid and Turin and his call up to the national team.

“During the summer I was training alone, just waiting for my move to Turin. I had offers from England, but in difficult times you have to put your faith in those you can trust. Juventus directors had literally been to my house telling me they wanted to sign me, so moving to Juventus was a decision made out of loyalty. I feel a kind of responsibility to do well. Not because of how much I cost, but because I came here having hardly played for Real. A lot of people advised me against this move. They told me to go to a mid-table team. I don’t think I made the wrong choice.”

Morata addressed  the differences between Madrid and Turin  and praised teammate Fernando Llorente.

“The differences? Well [in Madrid] after training I’d go out to eat with friends. Here you have to go with your teammates.

“I see pictures of  Zidane, Nedved,  Del Piero and Ibrahimovic, and I realise I’m at one of the world’s biggest clubs. As for Llorente, he could easily be in the [Spanish] national team, I admire him a lot. I’ve got one of his Athletic Club shirts in my house.”

“Madrid is the biggest club in Spain and Juve the biggest in Italy,” Morata told Cadena Cope’s ‘Play 12’ programme. If we talk at the end of the season I’ll tell you then who the best is. I’m very happy right now and I needed the change. Mentally I am very confident, although I think in any kind of work that’s fundamentally the same, but things are going much better and I’m enjoying things.”
