Juventus could look to Barcelona’s Martin Montoya to provide cover and add depth at in defence.

The full back has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou on more than one occasion with Serie A often named as a potential destination. The players agent Juan De Dios Carrasco confirmed today that the players future lies away from Spain with Italy being just one of several possible destinations.

“Tomorrow there will be a meeting with Barcelona to communicate a decision we have already taken,” Carrasco confirmed to Tuttomercatoweb.

“There are clubs interested in the player in England, in Italy and in Germany. Barcelona still has the option to block the transfer, but the agent minimised that factor. It’s not Montoya’s problem nor mine. The decision has been taken, we are checking what the situation is like and what Luis Enrique’s decisions will be.

“When a Barca player like Montoya wants to leave, I don’t think the club will be opposed. The Coach decides who gets to play, but if Martin doesn’t play, then he wants to leave.Facts count more than words. I am not going to discuss who’s to blame, the most important thing now is that Martin wants to leave now.”

According to Tuttosport, Montoya could be available for between €4m and €5m with Napoli also interested in signing player. Price isn’t the only factor as our very own Enrico Passarella notes:

With Kwadwo Asamoah and Romulo both recovering from surgery and Martin Caceres yet to return to full fitness, Juventus are reliant on Stephan Lichtsteiner, Simone Padoin and Patrice Evra in the full back roles.
