Juventus have confirmed that Benedikt Höwedes will miss a further 4 weeks of the season.

The German defender signed for the Bianconeri at the end of the summer but has missed all 6 games so far through injury and a lack of match fitness.

Juventus have confirmed the 29-year-old will be missing a further month of action having picked up a thigh injury during a training session, via the clubs official website:

During Thursday’s training session, Benedikt Höwedes sustained a thigh strain in his left leg affecting an area of scar tissue from a previous injury.

Initial examinations suggest it is a Grade 1-2 strain and the estimated recovery time is around four weeks.

A more precise recovery time will be established in due course following daily monitoring of the player and further diagnostic tests.
