Federico Bernardeschi will leave Fiorentina if the club is sold with Juventus top of the list as a potential destination.
An official announcement on Fiorentina’s website confirmed that the Della Valle family have officially put the club up for sale following a tumultuous few years where tempers have flared between the fans and owners on numerous occasions:
“ACF Fiorentina’s ownership announces that it is absolutely available, given the dissatisfaction on the part of the supporters, to step aside and make the club available to those who want to buy it, so they can manage it in the way they feel is right.”
As a result, Sky Sport Italia report that Bernardeschi could be one of the big departures from the club, having enjoyed his best season yet at the Artemio Franchi.
Various papers and channels have suggested that the 23-year-old winger wants to leave the club with Juventus his preferred destination, however Sky report that Chelsea are among the interested parties and may also make a bid of their own.
Its a huge amount of money for an untested at the top level youngsters, but he is clearly talented, a great age, very hard working and italian. This is the price to be paid for Serie A returning to the limelight, we are forced to pay through the roof and pay closer to premier league prices for players two years ago who would have been literally half the cost.
Id be happy if we signed him, though feel strongly we need two wingers, not just the one. Mandzukic and Cudrado both should be squad players…
I would like to believe that Federico takes inspiration from his kinsman Buffon, and sees for himself a lengthy career in black and white.
I believe Douglas Costa would be the better option right now. But I would so much love to see Bernardeschi in black & white. I have a good feeling that if we can sign him, and he gets solid playing time and is relatively successful, he will be the next long-term Italian — playing out his career at Juve. Like Buffon, Marchisio, Chiellini, etc. So, truthfully, this is the one signing I want to see the most this summer.
I sincerely hope he does join Juve. Would almost make me forget Sandro
