News outlets in Italy are reporting the completion of Gonzalo Higuain’s move to Juventus.
Sportitalia, Gazzetta Dello Sport, Sky Sport Italia and a host of others are reporting that Juventus have agreed to pay the €90m release clause that will take the Argentine from Naples to Turin.
Tuttomercato.web confirm that the deal is all but complete with Juve officials having registered Higuain’s contract at the offices of Lega Calcio this afternoon.
All that remains is for the club to confirm the transfer and unveil the player, after he reportedly completed his medical in Madrid last week.
Juve are expected to pay the release clause over two-years while Higuain will earn €7.5m per season having agreed a contract until 2020.
UPDATE
The official lega Serie A website has confirmed the transfer of Gonzalo Higuain to Juventus. The contracts have been deposited an the release clause has been paid:
Impressive!!
I can’t wait for the season to begin already. Fingers crossed Pogba stays! If not, then I guess we’ll get some more new faces eh!
Take my favorite number, too, I don’t care.
Unreal transfer market – Such a strong team – depth added all over the pitch. Surreal…..just surreal
Im a juvefan since 2003. I cant remember such a great mercato.
Totally surreal.
From Lord bendnter to Gonzalo Higuain…
Welcome to the new world b*tches
On a John scale. Do you still rate him a 5,as you would do with anyone else, or higher because of the price and hype around this transfer?
I love this deal, but im not quite sure how to scale it because the reason being goes beyond the players ability, but the message Marotta is sending to the fans and all of europe
I’m going to be very sceptical about this transfer until the day, within the time period of his 5-year contract that we stand with another CL trophy in our hands.
Unless he gives us just that, and plays a major major role in that scalp. This transfer was totally worthless. Because we have managed more than well to bring home every domestic title in these incredible and historical 5 years without his help and can just as well continue to do so, with or without him in Naples. We have played with heart and soul with the only other team coming near to that being Simeones Atletico.
Carlos Bacca have never been mentioned here as a possible wingman for Dybala. For let’s face it. Higuain or anyone else being brought in, except for Messi or Cristiano is gonna act as a wingman for Dybala. He is our numero uno, and will hopefully be so for many years to come.
Bacca is turning 30 this year and Higuain 29. So it only is about 1 year apart. The total cost for Higuains transfer is about 127.5m(this is just a rough estimate including his salary and transfer fee). While Milan would be happy to let Bacca go for around 30-40m and he would gladly accept a salary on about 4 to 4.5m making his rough estimate if we would give him a 4year contract, 58m.
Unless Higuain gives us a CL trophy. Surely you must agree that this was not a very good deal for us?
