Gianluigi Buffon |
Not at his usual best and took responsibility for the Olympiakos equalizer, after the game. Wasn’t aided by his defence. Clark Kent |

Great work rate and effort as always although some of his early passing left a lot to be desired. Improved as the game went on, delivered some fine crosses. Suisse Express. |

Much like his defensive partner, his performance tonight wasn’t in keeping with his early season displays. Great when winning the ball and bringing the team forward. Robin. |

Scored a sublime free kick on his 100th Champions League appearance. More like the Pirlo of old with his passing and vision. Maestro. |

Incredible work rate, regularly forward to try and create something for his team. Had at least one good goal scoring chance. Principled. |

Arturo Vidal |
Had his chances including a great run into the box where he inexplicably fell despite slight contact from the defender. Industrious and energetic but wasted his penalty late on. Galahad. |

Player Ratings
Too generous for some players. Buffon, Morata, and Vidal didn’t have 6/10 games
Buffon definitely should be penalized for that fumble. Aside from the poor finishing, i thought Morata did well.
I think Buffon had some good saves aswell.
Pogba and Pirlo are my men of the march.
Playing Pogba higher was a brilliant move by Allegri. Pogba made his physical presence known and showed class all through out the match consistently.
The 4 man defence benefits everyone and is waaaay less static than the 3-5-2. Today we looked like the Juve of 2012.
I just hope our finishing improves and we need to mark harder on those set pieces.
I also agree with this, they were really good. Vidal, Tevez, Morata, Marchisio all wasted so many chances and Buffon got beaten twice by set pieces. Asamoah did well for a player who isn’t 100%, too bad we didn’t have him or Caceres fully fit.
Finishing and defending set pieces was very weak
Tho if Caceres was fit, i think id rather have him as a Cb. Hes been the standout defender of the season.
Inb4Marc :p
Yeah with Chiello LB. But then again if Caceres was fit, we wouldnt have changed to a 4 man backline
I think we should still play back 4 when hes back. I also think Chiellini needs to stay at LCB. Hes not a LB.
I agree but that’s what Allegri said, if Ogbonna had been fit he wouldn’t have changed to a back 4. Personally I like the 4 man defence better too. I prefer Chiello as LCB but he started his career as a LB, he can do it when needed
But he can’t deny the 4 man defence works alot better than a 3 man defence, can he? Or atleast the whole new formation worked better. It would make him the worst coach ever if he switches back now.
Can’t Caceres play LB with Chiellini at CB? Chiellini is a better CB than Caceres and he’s better at CB than LB.
I read he’s going to use it again to play Parma, with Tevez trequartista since Vidal is suspended. I don’t know, I think both can do it, but Caceres is used to play on the other side, no idea how much toll it would take on him to play on the left
No Padoin? 🙁
