Reports in Italy and Spain suggest that Juventus have made a bid to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez this summer.
The Colombian has a contract with the Spanish side until 2020, however he’s been a peripheral figure at the club this season and could be allowed to leave in the summer.
Italian outlet Sportmediaset says Juve are ‘accelerating’ for the player in an effort to beat off any competition from Premier League sides, namely Liverpool and Chelsea, along with Spanish Champions, Barcelona. Spanish paper OKdiario make a similar claim and their director, Eduardo Inda, claims that Juventus have already submitted an offer for the 25-year-old who is widely expected to leave Los Merengues, although the exact amount is unknown.
Any prospective move could cost anything up to €80m, however despite the hefty price-tag, there are suggestions that Juve would be prepated to make a sizeable offer as they attempt to reinforce the midfield.
€80m is about twice what he is worth.
Much rather spend €80m on James Rodriguez than on Marco Veratti, But didn’t beppe leave it clear last window that Juve didn’t want James? Why wait till now, when we could have had him before????
Anyone paying over 40 million for him is way overpaying. He’s a good player but he’s not world class, had one decent season real overpaid for him. Not even sure he’d fit in our team, rather go after tolisso or verratti.
I don’t bother seeing RealMadrid play Unless it’s “el Classico” But i have seen many of his Colombian games, and from just that Rodriguez is Pure Class, and considering Veratti is running for about the same, I much rather get James Rodriguez. It could just be that RealMadrid just don’t know how to use him. Veratti isnt necessarily shining with PSG either, Not to mention the league is far weaker.
What do you mean “one decent season” he holds la liga records and the other reason he doesn’t play is because zidane has a personal issue with him. I can tell you haven’t watched the games, because if you had, you’d see everytime he comes in the game changes.
