Juventus director Beppe Marotta has travelled to Germany to complete the signing of Douglas Costa.

News has intensified in recent days of an impending transfer, starting with Bayern CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirming that the two clubs were in direct negotiations for the player.

The initial reports suggested that the German champions were holding on to Costa until they signed a new winger to take his place. Serge Gnabry was expected to be that signing, however the surprise announcement of James Rodiguez joining the club today has freed up Costa. Beppe Marotta was pictured in Germany earlier today and news soon emerged that an agreement had been finalised.

The latest news from Sky Sport Italia, CorSport and others reports that Costa has in fact signed his contract with Juventus and the clubs have exchanged the paperwork necessary for the player to complete his move.

Costa is expected to travel to Turin tonight before undergoing his medial tomorrow and will be announced as a Juventus player tomorrow morning or lunch time.

The particulars of the deal have also been detailed: He will arrive on loan initially, for a €6 million fee and a set buyout clause which could become a mandatory clause if certain performance related conditions are met during his time in Turin. The buyout clause is reportedly €40m making the total operation to sign the player close to €46m, albeit with payments spread over a number of years.

Previous reports had suggested that a salary of €7m had been agreed, making him one of the top earners at Juventus, alongside Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala.
