Juventus are set to go head-to-head with Barcelona in the race to sign Fluminense’s Gerson.

The creative midfielder is a highly rated prospect and Barcelona are believed to have entered into negotiations to bring the player to Spain.

Juve were believed to have been close to agreeing a deal for the player last year but a move failed to materialise.

The latest reports from Sky Sport and Tuttosport suggest that the Bianconeri are now pushing to sign the 18-year-old talent while transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Fluminense want at least €14m for any transfer.

Gerson is the captain of the Brazil Under-20 squad and was captain of the Under-17 side.
