Reports from Spain suggest that Juventus have offered to pay the €15m release clause for real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos, but they face competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Juve have contacted Betis directly to make an offer to activate the release clause.
The 20-year-old central midfield is being courted by Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, however Ceballos has had less than flattering things to say about Barcelona in the past.
Ceballos, who can also play on the left wing, was named Player of the Tournament in the recent European Under-21 Championship where Spain lost 1-0 in the final to Germany.
Asked about his future after the final, Ceballos said:
“I’m frustrated and I’m not thinking about my future right now. I want to disconnect and spend the rest of my holidays with my family. In a couple of weeks, l’ll start weighing up offers and thinking about my future. I want to relax and go unnoticed for three weeks.”
Interesting. Not sure why Marotta continues to load up with young midfielders. Wouldn’t the arrival of a more proven youngster (Ceballos) just further delay the appearance of Bentacur, Mandragora, etc?
Would this deal be the 4th midfield option they’re looking for? An alternative to N’Zonzi/Matuidi. Or will he be another youngster added to the loan army?
did you see him playing in Poland? great talent, going to be WC mid. 15m is nothing for such a player.
15mil is an incredible deal for him. He’s better than mandragora and bentancur are atm. Tbh, I think he’ll go to RM and if we are able to close the deal, he’ll end up moving to RM in a few years for an enormous fee. He’d be a good signing (especially to rest pjanic) but I don’t have my hopes up for it.

Allot of hype around this lad, seems justified by what I’ve read so far. If we can snatch him under 20 million id be more than happy. We really don’t have attack minded midfielders except pjanic. He could provide good cover, being Spanish wouldn’t use up any of our non-eh slots.
Sami is far more offensively minded than defensive. It is one of the reasons why our midfield remains prone to looking hapless, when we do not have control of the ball. We play two attacking midfielders as deep lying playmakers. Both are at their best bombing forward not sitting deep and defending. This is why you look at someone like Fabinho, or another naturally defensive midfielder and they make three times the tackles per game of Sami.
We need a pure DM to give the side the balance it needs…
Perhaps that will be bentancurs role? Not really sure but I welcome all young talent.
And here we go again….another 20 something to extend the loan army. We currently have 68 contracted players, first team, youth and loan….! I suppose there is a prize for the first who reaches 100?Let the lad be, let him sign for a spanish club and be loaned out back to Betis where he will actually be playing and concentrate in improving Juve.

So 15M or whatever his clause is, is 15M more than what I would pay for him. For goodness sake, they made an opening offer of 15M for Danilo, a player we at least need and they want to offer the same amount for someone who will at best act as a cover for a non existent position……!
Do what there is to be done with Sandro and start buying players we need. The team needs to be at 90-95% comes pre-saison.
