Inter beat Juventus on penalties in the first game of the annual Trofeo TIM after the match finished 1-1. The annual tournament sees the 3 side's each play 45 minutes against one another and it was Juventus who opened the scoring early on after Mirko Vucinic sprung the offside offside trap to slot past the on-rushing Castellazzi.
The game continued at a high tempo with Juventus passing the ball well but Inter were quickly on the offensive and Joel Obi bought a good save from Marco Storari; Juve countered quickly but Milos Krasic flashed his shot just wide of the far post.
Set piece's have been the bane of Juve's existence in season's past and it was a Wesley Sneijder corner that bought the equaliser with Andrea Rannochia latching onto the end of the Dutchman's effort to head home.
After a series of promising counter attacks from Juventus the game ended as a stalemate; Penalties beckoned ! Pasquato hit the bar while Pandev saw his effort saved by Storari. With the score 4-4, Andrea Barzagli hit the bar leaving Inter with a 7-6 win.
Juventus v AC Milan
Arturo Vidal was the star of the show with a goal and an assist as Juve snatched a late win against AC Milan in the Trofeo TIM.
Milan took the lead 12 minutes in after Vidal lost the ball in midfield and Cassano latched onto a neat through-ball to give Milan an early lead. It was almost two nil just moment's later when Kevin Prince-Boateng drilled a cross-cum-shot at Cassano, but Marco Motta was on hand to deflect the ball wide for a corner.
Juventus drew level on the 21st minute, somewhat against the run of play; Arturo Vidal fired a dipping effort from all of 30 yards which should have been easily covered by Roma, however the keeper allowed the shot to pass through his hands.
Juventus won the game late on when Vidal's pinpoint cross was met by the head of Matri leaving Juventus top of the table with Inter still to play AC Milan.
