Amauri was sent off in a dismal 1-1 draw with Serie B side Vicenza, as Juventus struggle to get into gear.

Ciro Ferrara’s squad concluded its Pinzolo pre-season training spell with a fractious encounter and yet another stalemate after drawing with Nancy.

It was a disastrous start, as after 16 minutes Sasa Bjelanovic skipped past an on-rushing Gigi Buffon and rolled across to the unmarked Misuraca to give Vicenza the lead.

Less than 60 seconds later, Amauri was shown a straight red card for using his elbow on Di Cesare, forcing the Bianconeri to play almost the entire match with 10 men.

Alessandro Del Piero hit the bar with one of his trademark free kicks and controversial new arrival Fabio Cannavaro went close from a corner.

Ferrara adopted a 3-4-2 system for the second half, pushing Claudio Marchisio and Hasan Salihamidzic further up on the wings.

Del Piero brought a fine save out of Frison with his backheel flick and David Trezeguet’s goal was ruled offside.

Trezeguet finally got the equaliser on 75 minutes by converting a penalty, awarded for Da Silva’s foul on Salihamidzic.

Considering this was the first match with the internationals taking part in pre-season, the Bianconeri were far from impressive.
