Marchisio out for three weeks
Monday 25th January, 2010 | Football Italia

Juventus suffered their 42nd injury of the season as Claudio Marchisio pulled up with a muscle injury that will keep him out of action for three weeks.

The 24-year-old Italy international midfielder only recently returned from surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee.

He has still made 14 starting appearances for the Bianconeri this season, though, and his absence will be felt.

Ciro Ferrara is running low on midfielders as Christian Poulsen is out for another month and Tiago was sent on loan to Atletico Madrid.

Momo Sissoko returned home early from the African Cup of Nations to bolster the ranks, but Ferrara is still without four key players.

It never rains but it pours in Turin as Paolo De Ceglie, Alessandro Del Piero, Diego, Jonathan Zebina and Amauri have all been struck down with gastroenteritis.

It remains to be seen whether they will make it in time to play Inter on Thursday.
