Il Corriere dello Sport understands Juventus patron John Elkann will speak with Bayern Munich about Franck Ribery while in Germany today.
Elkann is due in Munich to celebrate the 70th birthday of Hubert Burda, the German publishing magnate.
Franz Beckenbauer is also set to attend, prompting Il Corriere to speculate that they will inevitably talk about football and the future of Ribery.
Juventus had a strong interest in the French attacking midfielder last season, but the board eventually went with Diego, something that caused a split with Claudio Ranieri.
The 26-year-old is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer after Bayern signed Arjen Robben from the Spanish giants possibly as a long-term solution to his departure.
Ribery is expected to fetch €40m, a figure that seems beyond Juventus's spending power. |
