Juventus fantasista Sebastian Giovinco has agreed to join Parma, according to reports in the Italian media.
The 24-year-old playmaker has been sacrificed as Juventus undergo an extensive makeover in Turin following last year’s disappointing campaign.
Juventus’ new boss Gigi Del Neri plans to play a 4-4-2 with an emphasis on playing down the flanks rather than through the middle, making a player of Giovinco’s characteristics relatively superfluous.
Giovinco was already unhappy with the lack of playing time he received last season and made no secret of his desire to feature more regularly.
He had been strongly linked with a move to Bari over the last month, but Parma reportedly held talks with Juventus late last week with a view to a move.
The Gialloblu have now apparently agreed personal terms with Giovinco and the only thing missing is a fee.
It remains to be seen whether Parma simply try to co-own Giovinco or sign him outright. |
