The transfer market has closed and despite waiting with bated breath, the move for Pazzini never materialised. But this is not a time for petty recrimination, I'll let you guys and gals handle that ! (Just kidding) I'm working on a definitive review of the transfer market as we speak, but for the time being, here's a roundup of the days stories:
Pazzini unaware of Juve interest
Sampdoria hit-man Giampaolo Pazzini claims he was unaware of any reported interest from Juventus. Yeah right ! The whole of Italy and the majority of the footballing world knew that Pazzo was on Marotta's hit-list ! “No one ever said anything to me,” he said. “It was spoken about. I read many things, but I always remained calm and I went through it all with serenity. I know little or nothing about it. They left me be.” Read more here
Marotta responds to critics
Beppe Marotta has responded to comments from the press that suggest Juve's transfer campaign has been a failure. Despite the signing of Milos Krasic, Alberto Aquilani and Leonardo Bonucci, many have been quick to criticise the departure of Diego. You can read more here
Diego blasts Marotta
Juve's departed playmaker Diego has broken his silence over his transfer from the Turin club, lashing out at Sporting Director, Beppe Marotta. “Del Neri told me that I was a part of the project in May and also after the Trofeo TIM and that made me happy,” he said. “However, I looked at Marotta and understood that he was working in another direction. He was doing everything possible to sell me.”
“My sale has cost the club financially,” the Brazilian added. “Marotta doesn’t know how to treat champions like myself and David Trezeguet.
“If Marotta had comported himself in a different manner with me then we both could have worked on a move and Juve would have netted more money.”
Not only did Diego criticise Marotta for his own sale, but he also blasted the transfer guru for his overall mercato strategy.
“Marotta decided to sell me because he wants just Italians and that is the wrong road to go down,” he warned.
“Juventus have made a mistake with their signings, a lot of good players have arrived but no champions.”

Bari: 'Juve stole Rinaudo from us'
Bari have accused Juventus of “stealing Leandro Rinaudo from under our noses. This rarely happens in football.” “We are missing a defender. Yesterday we encountered something that rarely happens in football,” said director of sport Guido Angelozzi in a Press conference.
“Up until 3pm we had a contract signed by Rinaudo and also an agreement with Napoli. Then the club started to take time out, as it needed to find his replacement.
“We had beaten competition from other clubs and were told that the player was ours as long as they found a suitable alternative, otherwise Rinaudo would stay at Napoli.
“Then at 3pm something unexpected happened as, after Juve had been turned down by Kakha Kaladze and Marco Borriello, they didn’t know who to grab and went after Rinaudo.
“At this stage Napoli were picking up Emilson Cribari and Juve stole the player from under our noses. I have to be honest, yesterday I was angry with the player and his agent, because they didn’t behave ethically with Bari.
“We deserved more respect. Thinking over it last night, I realised Juve still have that aura and prestige. Never mind.”

Juventus will continue to chase Edin Dzeko, according to Beppe Marotta. “We did everything possible to get him to come to Turin, but Wolfsburg put up a wall,” Marotta told Tuttosport. “He is one of the strongest strikers in Europe, a player who can make the difference.”
