Reto Ziegler heads to Turkey, RIP Il Capitano.
Saturday 3rd September, 2011 | Juvefc.com

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water......MORE TRANSFERS !!!!!

Ok, it's not actually that bad, unless of course, you have some undying affection for our resident Swiss left-back ? That's right, Reto Ziegler has left for fenerbahçe on a season long loan. This came not long after the player confirmed that Antonio Conte told him he wouldn't be featuring in the coach's plan's for the coming season.

Along with the Ziegler, there's talk of Amauri and Luca Toni also heading to Turkey, this time to Trabzonspor and Galatasaray respectively. As always, you can keep up to date with all the day's transfer talk here: Juvefc.com Transfer Ticker ™ ©

With all that nonsense out of the way, let's turn our attention to more important matters.

Take a moment to pause and remember one man - Gaetano Scirea. The man Juventini call 'Il Capitano' was tragically killed in a car accident on this day in 1989. I wasn't around to see Scirea in his heyday, but having spoken to fellow supporters and listened to the way they talk with utmost respect and affection for 'Gai' , it's all too easy to understand why he's held in such reverence. He was, by all accounts, the greatest defender in the history of the game; I heard him described as 'Intelligent and elegant, a Gentleman sweeper'; That should tell you all you need to know. RIP.
