New Stadium Unveiled
Thursday 8th September, 2011 | Juvefc.com

From Football Italia.net:

Alessandro Del Piero is very excited at tomorrow’s inauguration of the new Juventus Stadium. “It represents a cultural revolution.”

The Bianconeri will be the first club in Italy to own their stadium, while the state of the art arena does away with athletics tracks and has fans up to 7 metres from the pitch.

“It represents a cultural revolution for Italian football, not to mention a delicate, important and courageous step forward,” the captain told Sky Sport Italia.

“I’d start from those three concepts so that we can inspire it to become normal for Italian stadiums.”

Curiously, Del Piero will play in his fourth ‘home’ arena over the past 18 years, as Juve have used the Stadio Comunale, Delle Alpi, Olimpico and now this new venue.

“It’s probably the most unbeatable record of my career! It’s fun and marvellous at the same time, as I was able to taste the atmosphere in four stadiums with changing emotions and unshakeable reference points.

“Above all, I was able to tread the pitch alongside great champions, so taking energy from that is wonderful. I prepared a special shirt to commemorate the four stadiums that I’ll give to friends and relatives, those who have followed me in all four over the years.”

The new Juventus Stadium is built on the same ground that used to house the Stadio Delle Alpi.

“It is a pleasing union between the Delle Alpi, which was a winning stadium for me and Juve, and this new arena that we hope can bring us the same success, if not more.”

A spectacular inauguration ceremony starts on Thursday evening at 19.00 UK time, followed by a friendly against Notts County at 20.30.
