Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal for a fee close to €40m.
The German champions unveiled their new signing earlier today with Vidal signing a contract until 2019 and choosing the 23 shirt.
“I’m very happy,” Vidal told Bayern’s official website.
“This is a new step in my career, and I hope I can do well here. I want to help the team and win trophies. It’s a dream come true for me.
“I wanted to make a big step in my career. I want to develop as a player, and win important trophies like the Champions League. I think I have the best chance of doing that at Bayern.
“Last season we were not far from winning all three trophies , now that has to be the goal with Bayern.
“I’m very excited to play in the Bundesliga again [having previously represented Bayer Leverkusen], and I’m definitely hoping to win it.
“I didn’t manage that with Leverkusen, but with Bayern the chances are very, very good.
“It’s a dream come true to be here.
“I want to win the Champions League. I feel I’m a more mature player now, I want to win over the Bayern fans.
“In Chile, they’re proud that I’ve moved to a big club. I just hope I can make people happy, I’ll do my best. I’ll continue to commit myself the way I did for Juventus.
“I’m ready to play in the Super Cup on Saturday, but we’ll see. I like to play in midfield, but the Coach will decide.
“I chose Juve in 2011 for myself and for my family, now I’m ready, and I have the experience it takes to play at a club like Bayern.
“I don’t think I’ll have to change my style, I developed my game in Italy, as well as improving my quality.
“Bayern is one of the top three clubs in the world. I want to give my all, that’s the most important thing for me.”
Vidal played 171 games for Juventus and scored 48 goals.

Caceres is a great Alt RB but much better as a CB in a 3-5-2… but he did do well as RB in a 4-4-2 when we played Real Madrid in the group stages that time…
He plays as a FB for Uruguay too. He’s a good player but I think Licht is massively underrated, he is a beast
Also, I think Pereyra will be given a much bigger role this season and he will really shine through. We already saw what he is capable of, and I think he will really break out this term.

First friendly against a pressing, fast team. We looked slow and not up to speed but we just strted training so nothing to worry about. I wanna see that Dybala-Zaza combo tho. I really like both of them
This looks, on paper, like it will work so much better than the 4-3-1-2 formation, in terms of attacking strength – Dybala looks a striker, not a trequartista. I hope we see him continue up front

The thing is Messi is the best player in the world, Neymar is the best young player in the world and him and Pogba will be battling it out for ballon d’ore one day, and Suarez is the perfect #9 somewhat in a Morata mold as in they are big guys who also have good skill and finishing. Not to mention their midfield of Rakitic and iniesta takes a lot of pressure off the forwards. It’s hard to compare Barcelona to anybody. But to your first point i agree we have too many CFs and I think Llorente will be heading out
Mandzukic obviously won’t pull some ankle breaking highlight reel move but that doesn’t really matter to me bc we have dybala for that 😉 And who are the players that are not remembered? The ones that can dribble but don’t get any results from it. You need both to be THAT guy. Big CF finishers can be awesome but like you said they need service. Luca Toni single handedly carried verona last year. With having a TQ this year instead of a Pirlo regista we should see more movement up front which will hopefully result in more service for our big guys. I’d assume we’d change or style of play from last year if we brought in Mandzu and Zaza while also having Morata. Tevez is kinda a selfish player and played off of Nando a lot which is why he got all the glory. I guess only time will tell still too early to judge

Trezeguet was similar in many ways, rarely dropped deep, was a pure fox in the box, made to finish chances.
If you look at Mandzukic’s record, he averages similar numbers. We’re getting him at the right time as well. I think he and Dybala/Morata could work great……..or i could be totally wrong !
Yeah Trez could disappear in games too but the thing is that they can also pop up out of nowhere and score a goal in the blink of an eye because they are hard working forwards and even if it seems like they are not doing anything they are pulling defenders and opening lanes for teammates while still looking to put crosses into the back of the net
