Juventus have confirmed that defender Giorgio Chiellini will miss this weekends title clash against Napoli and the Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

The veteran defender was subbed off with a calf problem during Juve’s 1-0 victory against Frosinone at the weekend, but the extent of the injury was unclear.

The Bianconeri have now confirmed that Chiellini will be out of action for at least 20 days meaning he’ll miss the games against Napoli, Bologna and Juve’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich.

“Giorgio Chiellini, who was subbed off during the game against Frosinone, underwent his medical exams today,” read a statement on the clubs official website.

“The exams revealed an injury to the triceps surae muscle of the right leg. It will take about 20 days for him to start athletic activity again.”
