Various reports in Italy suggest Patrik Schick has agreed to join Juventus this summer.
The in-demand striker has had a standout season in Serie A, netting 11 goals, despite having featured largely from the bench.
AC Milan, Napoli, Inter and Tottenham Hotspur were all reported to be in competition for the 21-year-old Czech forward but Premium Sport report that Juventus have agreed terms with the player and he has decided to join the Bianconeri.
A €25m release clause was added to his contract when he joined Sampdoria, however Juve are hoping to lower the cost by offering players in exchange.
An official offer is pending and it seems ever more likely that he’ll be loaned back to Sampdoria for the 2017/18 season.
Sky Sport Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio’s also reports that Schick is close to Juventus, with Juve vice-chairman Pavel Nedved having played a crucial role in convincing the young striker to join the Italian champions.
Goal.com Juventus correspondent Romeo Agresti reports similar news with Juve expected to meet Schick’s agent in the coming days.
Would be a smart move. Great age, seems to be blossoming hugely this season and can offer great back-up to Gonzalo and learn from of the bets in the business.
Add in Keita, who will give us the option of using the 4-2-3-1 without Dybala and can be deployed also on the wing (though far less defensive valuable than Mandzukic) and De Sciglio to cover the departure of Lichsteiner…then…finally, out goes Mr Lemon and in comes Tollisso…who can also play in defence as well as midfield.
Seems a reasonable and intelligent mercato. Perhaps more movement than this. Sturaro could end up leaving to seek first team football. Yet we must wait to see what happens in the final of the CL.
If we were to win, one or two might decide they wish to try a new challenge whilst still at the top…Sami and Leo would be the two in mind there.
Agreed on some big name departures if we win ECL. Simply a case of won everything (except World Club Cup or Intercontinental whatever it’s called), need new challenge and last big(ger) payday before end of career in Europe. I would add Chiellini to that list, who surprised me with near perfect English on tv after Monaco game. Lets see, which EPL team would pay big wages for world class central defender due to their own defense being a shambles….. Arsenal spring to mind!
Both Manchester clubs need a proper CB. Kompany has returned, but for how long? I’d see our very own Kaiser Chiellini as more likely to stay at Juve, he has other interests beyond football and nothing – other than his much improved command of our mother tongue – causes me to suspect he is interested in a move. Though who can say, comrade…even Max could consider his options more carefully if he wins the treble. Perhaps that is why Spalletti remains sniffing around and seems set to leave Roma.

How come players dont do that with Real Madrid or Barcelona?
Anastasios Donis with two goals today for Nice vs Lyon…. I really hope his buyout clause is close to 10 million. That’s 5 goals and 1 assist in 17 games for Nice…. the kid is only 20.
Much cheaper than that, mate…I thought it was 2m as the purchase option, yet…I believe there was also a counter-purchase included.
I think this is a big mistake! aside from Italy this kid is a nobody, There re plenty of Goal scorers more proven than Schick and more promising.
If Shick is a for the future player: “seems ever more likely that he’ll be loaned back to Sampdoria for the 2017/18 season” Then this may not be bad news, he is worth the gamble.
but If schick is to be Higuain’s sub, and our second CF for next season then Shick is a mistake
Hoping we also abandoned the silly Sciglio talk as well. god knows what management’s been smoking or drinking lately SMH.
Why does he have to be ‘big’ elsewhere? Having the ability to unlock Italian defences, who are technically far better than say anything in the EPL shows the lad has talent already if most of those goals are from reduced playing time. Plus, at 21 he is still considered a ‘prospect’ for the future, with lots of development potential to improve significantly. He remains on course to be a very good striker for the future. Well worth a punt by us.
Not that he has to be big elsewhere, or that every major club should be after him, I mean more in the sense of being a “Proven” European Goal Scorer weather that means CL Cup, or National team.
Higuain had a massive impact in our Serie A title as expected, He and Dybala will continue to provide this coming season and the next SURELY! Shick is a buy we dont need because we Dont Need someone adept at opening Italian defenses, we Need someone adept at opening defenses across country’s and their styles of play.
There is no doubt how much Higuain contributes to the team in the CL without scoring like he did with Barcelona, where he was pulling everyone out of line and causing mayhem, I am not arguing how much of an asset he has been in the CL as well, however I am saying that he just isn’t a top notch European scorer who finds it simple to put balls behind the net, across all styles of play.
Take for example Mandzukic. There is no doubt how hard he worked for us last season, but he just isn’t a serie A net breaker, thus we bought Higuain to net 20+, and look how much we have improved! Higuain however is incompetent when out of Serie A and in the CL or a big stage, thus we need a 10+ net breaker in the CL; people like: Mbappe, Griezmann, Aubameyang, in terms of European national teams Sturridge comes to mind(that can be a very realistic option).
to recap: We have Higuain and if we didn’t, we still have the best team in Serie A, and we have won it so many times it should no longer be something on our minds, we should be striving more for European glory and CL cup dominance over the Serie A. That would be improving. That is why i am opposed to buying Shick, If shick is for the future and will be loaned back, than that is fine. However if he is to be our second striker second fiddle to Higuain then that is bad news. We need someone for Europe, Higuain just isn’t our guy.
Dybala may well be gone in a season or two. In fact I and many others doubtless expect him to be. Don’t believe the ‘i love this club, my heart is at Juve’ spiel. All footballers say that, but money is the language they speak and understand the most. Pogba and his agent said all that crap the same year he p*ssed off to Utd…. Someone will put in an insane bid eventually. We have to accept he will leave sooner than later. If we have Schick in development now, come the time of PD leaving we have an instant replacement. Problem solved! Remember, Beppe is always thinking a season or two ahead.
