Allegri reveals why he was unhappy with the way Juventus finished the game

October 6, 2022 - 9:30 am

Max Allegri has revealed he was not satisfied with Juventus’ performance in the final minutes of their 3-1 win against Maccabi Haifa.

The Bianconeri had been in control of the game from the start, but the Israelis had more joy against them in the second half.

Juve still won, thanks partly to the fine form of Angel di Maria, who delivered three assists for his teammates.

The victory means the Bianconeri now has two wins from as many games in different competitions, and it sets them up well for their game against AC Milan at the weekend.

But Allegri wanted more from his players towards the end of that game, and he said afterwards via Football Italia:

“I was very angry at the end, because you can’t just leave the game in the final 15 minutes and start messing around. You get the chances to score five or six, but if you concede one and then get scared, that is really damaging.”

Juve FC Says

Allegri knows now is not the time to be complacent during matches, as we are under the microscope.

We must keep getting the wins, and that involves ensuring we see out our games successfully.

The players know this, and Allegri would have reinforced the message to them after the fixture.

Good observation by coach Allegri, I think it’s an indication that he’s reading the game play and mentality of the players on the pitch. Juve players sometimes lose concentration and just sit back allowing pressure in their half. Coach Allegri has to find ways to build positive character in the players when under pressure and pack the bus while remaining creative. Otherwise congratulations on last night’s victory

Allegri’s right, the team must improve.
But he also made mistake: the Vlahovic/Kean susbstitution was a very bad idea.

Kean replacing Vlahovic was bad idea ? This feels friendly towards the idea to starts Kean right from the 1st minute..this.might work much better

What is bad is playing Cuadrado on right full back…Cuadrado talent’s is attacking winger Sir..therefore he can come for Kostic or Di Maria..and they all 3 should have enough energy for continueous rotation role

It WAS Cuadrado talent’s. Unfortunately. 🙁

Cudrado can play anywhere on the right flank. He uses him anywhere he can. That’s what is his strength. He is a good utility player. Besides 4-4-2. How are you going to play him up front on the flank? There is no flank up front!

Allegri himself was the reason behind loss of performance after 70′ . He took out his wings and brought 1 defender and a central midfielder , giving all the width to the opponents.
