Leonardo Bonucci has rejected a lucrative offer from Manchester City, choosing to remain at Juventus.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bonucci has turned down the opportunity to earn €8m a year, double his current Juve salary, to remain in Turin and extend his career with the Bianconeri.
Gazzetta also report that The Old Lady will now look to renew Bonucci’s existing deal with the club, including a salary increase for the player who has chosen to remain at Juve to try and win the Champions League.
Great news to hear! Not once did I doubt him leaving Torino.
I had some doubts at one stage, Francisco !
Once he posted a video saying he was getting ready for another season in black and white, i felt relief – From then, it was just a matter of time before the rumours disappeared. This is really good news.
This is off-topic, but I have been following the twitter page, although I have no account, for more than a year now and just now I decided to create a account for the website to at least interact with everyone. I wanted to thank you for keeping the page running and informing us fans on everything Juve. Haha before I would say I was obsessed with Juve, now I just say that the club is my heart.
I have to say, i really appreciate that Francisco ! That is really kind of you – I’m glad to have you on board here – We try and keep the news updated every day, and you can comment on ever story as openly as you like – No censorship here !
Really glad you took the time to join amico
Double the salary – Working with Guardiola
Didn;t even take the club to intervene, seems Bonucci turned it down, out of hand.
COMMITMENT. Forget flashy tricks, stepovers, haircuts and pointless self-promotion.
Give me an army of Bonucci’s, Chiellini’s, Nedved’s…..these are the players that matter
One of the most important juve players Ive ever seen.
Love his attitude!
I understand your point, but I have to say it surely isn’t a difficult choice for Bonucci when he has the whole Italian defense around him. Playing with Chiellini, Barzagli and Buffon regularly grants an easy road to the national team.
exactly, you took the words out of my mouth.
A true club man. A dying breed. Well done Leo for being above the gutter of cash that is the EPL.
Not surprised, but welcome to hear anyway! Grande Leo!!
Amazing news, I was worried for a while, but dearly hoped Leo would resist the millions and stay with his heart. Such a relief. He will hopefully take over from Buffon as the symbol and even the captain of the club (even though Cheillo will probably get it). Pogba can go jump, the money grabbing fool. hope he enjoys his away trips to kazakhstan in the europa lge.
