Leonardo Bonucci is inching closer to a return a to Juventus this summer while Gonzalo Higuain and Mattia Caldara are expected to join Milan.

In one of the more bizarre transfer stories of the summer, Bonucci seems close to returning to the Bianconeri just a year after he left the club to join AC Milan.

Reports at the time had suggested that issues with the Juventus management had led to the players departure, in particular, a falling out with manager Max Allegri.

Reports from Sky Sport Italia, Goal Italia and a host of others now suggest that a move involving no fewer than three players is underway.

Gonzalo Higuain is expected to leave Juventus on loan and join Milan in an €18m loan deal with the Rossoneri retaining an option to make the move outright next summer for €36m.

The Bianconeri will seemingly swap Caldara for Bonucci, with each of the players valued at €40m, making it an equal exchange and no money involved in the trade.

Higuain’s brother and agent was pictured meeting with new Milan general manager Leonardo late last night with the suggestion being that only the players ‘ok’ was needed to move the deal ahead.
