‘Great doubts about these two’ potential Juventus signings

May 30, 2022 - 11:59 pm

Juventus are being linked with two potential signings in Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria, but former Bianconeri Beniamino Vignola has doubts about the duo.

The Old Lady are already working on strengthening their side ahead of the new season, with a number of free agents set to decide on their futures in the very-near future. Two that we are believed to be in the market for are Paul Pogba and Angel Di Maria, who are set to leave Manchester United and PSG respectively, and we are believed to be amongst the favourites for both.

Former midfielder Vignola isn’t convinced that they are the right players to bring in this summer, claiming that we should instead be looking at a ‘point guard’.

“I have great doubts about these two players, not about the value but about their characteristics,” he told TuttoJuve. “With the recovery of Chiesa, there is Cuadrado, there are good midfielders like Locatelli, McKennie and Rabiot, so I would see them a bit as gods. In my opinion, more than Pogba, which is a heated soup, we need the figure of a point guard capable of organizing the game in a midfield that has been missing in recent years.”

I have to admit that I would love to see Pogba come back, but I also agree that we need an enforcer to take control in midfield. Chelsea should maybe be where we look for one, with both of Ngolo Kante and Jorginho being linked with a potential exit in recent windows.

Which areas of the team do you think should be our priority this summer?

I agree, it would be better to go for Kante or Jorginho rather than Pogba for the midfield, Pogba performance this season was really poor. However, Pogba still a good option, he is a special case like Lukaku in Chelsea. I hope Juventus closes Di Maria this week, I don’t see other better player that we can sign for free to enhance our attack. Juventus should prioritize the left back side, the central back and the midfield. I would try to bid for Marcos Alonso (Chelsea), Koulibaly, (Napoli) and Gundogan (Man City) or Isco (Real Madrid).

Only Koulibaly makes sense, the others are either too old with high wages or will replace ramsey in J-Medical. If we sign Di Maria and Pogba we should go for young talents for the other positions.

They are 30 and 31 years old, which is not that bad, their salaries are high but still affordable for Juventus budget. We all ready have those youth talents in the team. The only one that could be compared with Ramsey case is Isco, but he is a player that will come from Real Madrid winning 4 Champions Leagues, playing and training with the best players of the world. Ramsey came from Arsenal winning just an FA Cup and some shit trophies in more than 5 seasons, no one cares about Arsenal players in the last decade…Anyways I think is unlikely that Isco come to Juventus if that makes you feel good…On the other hand Marcos Alonso had a good performance the last season, same for Koulibaly and there is no way you tell me Gundogan is Ramsey…You are one of those that was not happy when Pirlo came from Milan to Juventus and then look what happened.
