Juventus striker Alvaro Morata says the club are strong in Europe and ‘It was a mistake to think that Juventus were already dead.’

Speaking to Tuttosport, the Spaniard confessed to his own poor form but insisted the players are calm and prepared.

“I’ll be the first to say I played badly against Chievo, but against City we all played together, fighting with the same determination we had last year,” Morata told the Italian daily.

“The truth is that we’re really strong in Europe.

“In Serie A you concede goals and the others close you down, in the Champions League there is more space and you can play.

“It was a mistake to think that Juventus were already dead.

“So many people don’t like Juventus, it’s normal after having won four Scudetti in a row. We’re calm and if we’re compact, we’re dangerous.

“Buffon helps us, he’s one of the best in the world and it’s impressive.”
