OFFICIAL: Juventus sign Roberto Pereyra

July 25, 2014 - 1:21 pm

Juventus have officially signed Argentine winger Roberto Pereyra from Udinese on loan with option to pay for a total €15.5m.

Juventus held an official press conference with the player and Juventus Director Beppe Marotta just moments ago.

“I’m feeling good and I’m very happy to be here,” the 23-year-old told JTV.

“I’ve joined a great team, where you have to play well week in, week out. Now I’m just waiting to start training so I can be available for the Coach.

“It’s obviously going to be difficult to break into the starting XI, but I’m just going to train alongside my teammates so that I can learn from them.

“Maybe once I start playing, I’ll be able to show what I can do. I’m a pacey player and I love to dribble. I always try to help out the team and offer something extra.

“Hello to all the Bianconeri fans, I can’t wait to play in front of you and bring some excitement.”

Pereyra will arrive on an initial one-season loan worth €1.5m. There is an option to buy for €14m to be paid over three years.

“This fee could be increased by €1.5m should Pereyra achieve certain predefined sporting targets by 30 June 2020.”

Good idea. Im sure he d love to rot on the bench after we forced him out of the club. Plus im pretty sure it was Agnelli who wanted him out of the club… he didnt even allow Del Piero to announce his own departure.

      • Avatar
        JuventusBuffon July 26, 2014 at 12:13 am

He’s at the end of his career, he wouldn’t mind being on the bench. Sooner or later that’s where he will be, as a coach. But as you said, with Agnelli screwing around this is just a dream far from reality.

When and if he returns as coach, he ll do just that. Hes a legend, not some random player to fill in the bench warmer role.

When Del Piero gets involved, i don’t see how Agnelli can remain at Juve. It’s sad to think that the Agnelli family was already involved with the club decades ago, but Del Piero means alot more to the club than Andrea Agnelli.

Juve and Lichtsteiner are having problems getting an agreement for a new contract. His contract is expiring in 2015 and if he doesn’t sign a new contract it’s likely they will sell him this window so he won’t leave for free next summer. For fuck sake, i don’t want Lichtsteiner to go. If we play 4-3-3 or whatever other formation with 4 defenders, he will be crucial because he can focus on just defending.

Nah I’m not showing him what’s happening currently. I just linked a bunch of articles on how the conflict started and its history.

There are hundreds of kids being bashed to death or near death and I should just ignore it? They won’t stop until all the Palestinians are extinct and then they’ll completely take over the land that Palestinians were peacefully living in pre 1944. And the funny thing is they use the excuse of Hamas shooting rockets into Israel when in the past 13 years only 30 Israelites have died from rockets. Compare that to the amount of Palestinians murdered in the past 13 years and you’ll know why this is all wrong.

It sure as hell is frustrating. The sheer fact that this is happening without any response from the major powers is horrific. Imagine being there defenseless and knowing that there is no one supporting you while rockets shoot down your house…

All I can do is spread the information and maybe something might happen. I mean in London there were 45000 people gathered to protest on behalf of Gaza which can make a huge difference.

Guys haven’t you noticed yet? It clearly and vividly shows that Agnelli has his sights on just the Scudetto. More recruitment of serie a players. No high profile foreign players that are not in serie a. Morata deal is a business deal, if he is good, madrid will buy him back for 30 millions. Same thing goes for Coman. We buy him with couple of cents and then ship him away for 50 million, just like what will happen with Pogba (if not this summer, then the next). Why would Agnelli risk it by splashing these millions and millions of cash on foreign players when we’ve got Madrid, Barca, Man united, Bayern, PSG, Man City, and Chelsea spending 50+ millions like its nothing to them. It is clearly proven to us that Agnelli is just focusing on serie a. He is spending cash on investments, cash on players that will in return double or triple the amount he spent on. Juve has become a business club from the moment Andrea Agnelli took charge of it. He is unlike his father. He loves Juve because it is another asset for him and he is benefiting from him in a business point of view, and not a sport. He got Allegri because Allegri some how good in just qualifying out of the group stage of the champions league, and by just qualifying out of the group stage, we will earn cash. He will not risk it like i’ve said above with these top horses in Europe. Andrea Agnelli wants a guaranteed cash returns.

    • Avatar
Marco Basile July 27, 2014 at 11:28 pm

With the economic situtation in Italy and the fact that Juve have a strict no-depth policy we will hardly make some expensive signings.

We will not be able to compete with the likes of Chelsea, PSG, Barca, Real, United etc on a financial level for many years.

Look at Real Madrid. Spening 100M on players like it was nothing but within 6 month they’ve earned their money back solely from selling their jerseys.

But Juve have always had good history in turning random players into stars and doing well without going crazy in the transfer market. But with the income from the Stadium, from the museum, all the recent succes in the League should have generated some kind of money to spend!’

We all want big players to come, but we need to remember that Vidal and Pogba were unknown before they joined Juve. Who knows… Maybe Morata or Pereyra will turn out the same.

But I agree on Agnelli. He needs to FEEL the sport instead of looking at it from a money-only standpoint.

      • Avatar
        DelleAlpi July 27, 2014 at 11:35 pm

What you’re saying was before Andrea Agnelli was Juve’s President. And Juve are very good when it comes to turning random players into stars, but with Agnelli, he will load them of for the cash. Unlike before when we used to keep them and compete in Europe.

But before that they sold every top player they had without getting a decent replacement.

Nasri, Fabregas, Clichy, Adebayor, Vieira etc.

Now they’re spending big bucks all of a sudden on Özil and Sanchez. That’s very unlike Arsenal

          • Avatar
            DutchJuve July 28, 2014 at 11:29 am

I know. That’s why they went from the invincibles to a team competing for just 4th place and QF of the CL at highest.

The board finally started realising they should spend and Wenger has wanted this to happen for a long time. Most people say it’s Wenger who didn’t want to spend, but their board used to be alot like ours is now. So actually we already are another Arsenal because we don’t spend.

He’s naturally more of an attacking player, but if needed he can play CM too as far as I’ve seen.

But there’s no doubt that he’s much better on the wing or just behind the striker(s).

Yaya would be a pretty realistic target given that he wants out of Man City. Loads of experience, the only midfielder that comes close to being as good as Vidal in both ends of the field.

I’m actually beginning to really like the thought on that! He’s past 30 (i think) so his pricetag might be reasonable.

    Dear Ricardo,

I got the impression that you lost a match 3-0 to Bayern Munich yesterday. That’s a pretty harsh thing to happen. Being pushed with your face into the hard truth that there will be a very one sided Bundesliga again this year and even you cannot do anything against this. Not with this team.
I’m sure you spend the whole match running down that left flank, making perfect tackles impressing, yet not scaring the Bayern players. Not scaring them because a few tackles does nothing to a 3-0 score. Now what if i told you, there is a way to scare them for real. In a tournament called the Champions League, a holy tournament Wolfsburg can only dream of. You were smiling, shaking hands and hugging their players after the match, but i know you want revenge. Well, guess what, so do we! For the 2009/10 season and for the 2012/13 season. Join us, together we can make beautiful things happen. Your Wolfsburg yesterday proved to be no match for Bayern, but with the likes of Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Tevez and our captain Gigi Buffon, we can make them dirty their pants.
Now i know there hasn’t been an offer for you by our director Beppe Marotta, but i can assure you there are ways to improve him. Make a phone call to him, tease him with a loan and option to buy, maybe even throw in a co-ownership despite that not being allowed anymore. Out of experience i know this will get his attention. He might ask you on trial and then all you gotta do is not show what you are capable of, but show him you are just a mediocre player. He will film it and show your club how mediocre you are they will have no chance but to sell you for the little price Marotta wants to spend. After that, you can make fireworks happen in Turin.
If you’re worried about being a starter, do not worry. All we have is Evra. I can guarentee you will not experience problems getting into the starting 11 over him.
Worried about settling in in a new country? Don’t worry about that either, we have your fellow Swiss, Stephan Lichtsteiner. With your arrival, it will be easier for him to sign a new contract and help you settle in in Turin.
Join us, Ricardo Rodriquez, together we can own the world!

    Greetings,

    A passionate Juventus fan.

I think it’s because he haven’t been presented by the club yet. He and Pogba will return from vacation on Thursday.

At least that’s what I think since both Morata and Pereyra unveiled their numbers during the Press conference.

Or it might be because he wants number 5 when Ogbonna leaves and he just have to wait.

Haha I was just about to write that. Lol. I think he will get either number 2 or number 5.

But since Rômulo likes number 2 and he probably will arrive sooner I think that he will get that one.

Chiello seems like he could survive Calciopoli(Again)… I guess he could survive Allegri… and Evra ain’t getting any younger… just shorter… Soon Giovinco wont be the shortest one around…( if he sticks around, that is!… God I hate all this uncertainty!)

        Great fucking business.

They’ve almost earned their money back from Rodriguez without him even playing his first match.

      • Avatar
        ImSoCool12345 July 28, 2014 at 10:53 pm

They’ve earned the price and almost the wages of Ronaldo back, they’ve earned at least half of Kaka’s price through shirt sales (speculation), and they’ve earned 25-30m out of 80m of Rodriguez already through shirt sales. As for Bale I don’t think he’s popular with the fans but he had a great season and winning the CL repayed them for his price. Ridiculous how well they do business.

        Meanwhile, at Juve…

Calciopoli ruined Serie A and Juventus … In the last 10 years, Serie A has been in steep decline while the other leagues grow in popularity, have beautiful stadiums, ridiculous TV contracts and are operating in the 21 century… The way football has exploded with social media and all the other outlets, Serie A has missed the boat big time and continues to fall behind every year more and more.

        • Avatar
Marco Basile July 29, 2014 at 8:00 am

Bale earned his money back in 6 months last year through jersey sales too.

He is VERY popular as far as I know.

    • Avatar
      ImSoCool12345 July 28, 2014 at 10:56 pm

You can see the inflation of prices in this list.

Kaka, who was worlds best player the season they bought him was 60m while James Rodriguez and Bale are 80m and 100m respectively. Ozil was one of the best young players in the WC yet only went for 18m. I’m sure the best young players in the WC today are worth 30m+ like Shaqiri.

      The inflation is real.

      • Avatar
        adp1974 July 29, 2014 at 2:39 am

Kaka was nowhere near best in the world when madrid got him, it was a ridiculous price to pay for him considering he was noticeably on the decline .. great sale for Milan. He was never at madrid, not even close, to what he was at Milan.

He should have never been sold… he never looked like he was losing his legs or skill or anything for that matter (not even his hair)… they had absolutely no reason to sell him!

He could easily have had a few more seasons in Juve.

But I watched many games of Stuttgart’s games the following season.

if anyone is hoping Jovetic will join Juve.. forget about it. Jovetic said on ESPN that he does not want to go to Italy. Including Kolarov

Roma beat Madrid and United in friendlies this past week. Meanwhile, at Juve…

Roma use 50+m in signings. Meanwhile, at Juve…

Roma still have their successful coach Rudi Garcia. Meanwhile, at Juve…

Roma aren’t in the verge of selling their best midfielder. Meanwhile, at Juve…

Also it’s not very fair to compare the Conte situation to the Garcia situation. We still don’t know the complete truth why Conte left and Garcia joined Roma in 2013, Conte joined us in 2011. Who knows, maybe Garcia will leave Roma in 2016.

Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias Pogba have joined Pescara in Serie B.

Newspapers suggest that it might mean that our Pogba (the real one!) might stay with us for quite some time.

Hope he is good, then we can have 2 Pogba’s

He’s a striker. Coming from 3rd division in England.

I’ve never seen him play, but it could be interesting if Pescara made it to Serie A next season.

Possibly. Both of his brothers wore Juve jerseys and celebrated the two scudetti with him.

They are his biggest fans lol.

Yeah i liked those scenes. Last scudetto party i showed those 3 to my mom saying they were there last year too to celebrate it with him. Close family is a good thing. Especially when that family comes to Italy and not to Manchester or Madrid or w/e.

We should buy him and put Pauls jersey on him and send him packing to PSG/Real. I mean they do look alike, and not just because theyre black haha.

        That’s a good plan bro!

PSG might not even notice by all the cash they’ll be covering him in if he joined.

apparently we might look to bring back gabbiadini. i’d definitely do that. he’s already better than giovinco. llorente, tevez, morata, gabbiadini, coman, is a good enough attack for me
