Report: Zakaria has two suitors as Juventus contemplate a sale

August 20, 2022 - 3:30 pm

While deadline day is edging closer, Juventus are still hustling in the market. Federico Cherubini and company are still working on bolstering two playing positions. They are looking to sign a striker and a midfielder.

But when it comes to the middle of the park, the Bianconeri will have to offload at least one of their current crop to make room for a new arrival.

As we all know by now, the management has identified PSG’s Leandro Paredes as the right profile to strengthen Max Allegri’s squad.

But while the club was hoping to get rid of either Arthur Melo or Adrien Rabiot, their departures didn’t materialize, forcing the Old Lady to look for an alternative sale.

According to Tuttosport via JuventusNews24, the Turin-based giants are now willing to sacrifice Denis Zakaria in order to bring in Paredes.

The Switzerland international only joined the club in January after making a switch from Borussia Monchengladbach. The source adds that the midfielder has two suitors in the form of or Roma and Borussia Dortmund.

Juve FC say

Apparently, Allegri is keen to sign a new deep-lying playmaker who can take some of the burden off Manuel Locatelli.

In a perfect world, Rabiot and Arthur would have found their way out of Turin, but their high wages remain a massive issue.

At the end of the day, finding a buyer for Zakaria remains an easier task, but it would be a shame to part ways with the player before granting him a fair chance to express his abilities at the club.

This is a stupid idea. They’ve got to try to offload Rabiot and Arthur. Pay a percentage of their salary. Do what you have to do. Don’t sell a solid box to box midfielder. But in the end if time is running out then do what you have to do but don’t sell to Roma or other Italian team. Roma has outclassed everyone in this transfer market. Don’t strengthen them further.

allegri won`t give up his boy rabiot. he represents him perfectly, a mediocre player that is there and only the odd mistake but a headless chicken. but like them all, maybe he`d be better with a better coach. they need to pay to get rabiot and arthur out, and if agnelli didn`t give him a guarantee allegri should be out on his arse as well

Why everyone hates Rabio? He’s done exactly what most of the midfielders have done the last few years!! Should replace them all!! Zakaria hasn’t done much either. Arthur is terrible. Even Locatelli hasn’t really lived up to what he should be doing. The coach is the real issue.

and that`s not good enough. guess who`s starting tomorrow? allegri`s son, rabiot. Locatelli can thrive under real coaching, allegri can`t do it that`s why he likes the `experience` because he doesn`t have to try and coach

Honestly. They should sell locatelli. He won’t thrive under alegri and management seems to value him more than the players or team. Ever since allegri took over he has regressed significantly. I don’t remember a since game where locatelli was the most influential player of the match. He’s been relegated to just a replaceable player. Allegri wants to play super park the bus. Locatelli does t look comfortable playing defense first and coming from sassulo they definitely didn’t play that way either. Allegris tactics demand a ball possession and intelligent passer to spring the counter. Pirlo was ideal as this. So players like that are what we need. I would even dare to say miretti is better in this system than locatelli. Sell locatelli. Bring in parades. Zacharia and rabiot can be the box to box players. Arthur was just a horrific buy and will be the new Arron Ramsey. I’d keep one of fagioli and rovella. Preferably both. Locatelli would be far more appetizing to other teams to raise funds and maybe even ship Arthur as a package deal.

You actually make some very good points, however I think Allegri is the main problem in the sense he’s never willing to play to the teams strength, and is instead very closed minded. There’s nothing wrong with our squad, they’re all professionals and if coached properly can be effective, especially now. Locatelli for example is an excellent playmaker, good tackler, dribbler, intelligent and is very good at teamplay. Any manager would be happy with that skillset yet Allegri wants someone sculted specifically to his liking. He could play box to box, but Allegri would needs him to be atleast 190cm tall and a beast physically. He could play in a double pivot but Allegri prefers to having his midfield controlled by a single player, when there are barely any players in the world with that gift. Not only that but now he wants them be good at defense as well. What even would his job be at this point? We have a solid squad which most good coaches would be able to bring to success, yet he still finds a way to make us look poor. He needs to start focusing on how to get the best out of the players at his disposal.

yep the players are good enough to win the Scudetto, allegri is nowhere near that level. Some are confused of their roles, that is purely down to coaching.

we need to try and hold on until allegri is gone, it is tough. I mean if we are being Humanitarian we should sell everyone under 30…oh wait he`ll never sell his boy rabiot. imo there`s no way he didn`t tell him he wasn`t playing that`s why he upped his demands to united to stay. God help us is we get top 4 he will be extended and allegri hailed as a Coach again

who says locatelli is sub par does not know football. he is the best midfielder in juve now. where these commenters are from? he is the only midfielder who can send through pass, long pass, shoot and run into box – no other midfielder can do that except pogba

No Don’t sell Locatelli. He is best as a box to box player and is better than both Rabbiot and Zakaria. Arthur and Rabbiot have been disastrous from a performance and financial perspective – Paratici was a disaster since Marotta left.

I`ve read allegri is playing rabiot tomorrow, he definitely played a hand in keeping him over someone better. Paratici was playing bertie big bollocks against marota. Cherubini and Arriva are cleaning up as many of his messes as possible, but allegri will blame the youngsters as much as he can.

Why you guys focus solemnly on the players part alone. The board is to blame from my part. We need to change the entire board for their lack of good knowledge to modern football. We need a new coaching crew that plays attacking and pressing football. Allegri is too defensive minded coach with less ability to read the game easily. Always Juventus are behind in possession and even goal attempt. Everyone knows the contribution of good back wings in modern football, but yet Sandro is there with no good replacement/substitute. Both wings are incapacitated in terms of crosses. The sporting directors is not doing his work at all. Brings in good coach and his crew then we are good to go.
