When Aaron Ramsey signed for Juventus last summer, it was a move that certainly raised a few eyebrows. Ramsey wanted a change and Juventus offered that although it has not really worked out in the way he hoped it would.
So far, Ramsey has made 18 Serie A appearances for Juve, alongside a handful of cup appearances and five in the Champions League. He’s scored four goals in total, which was to be expected as he is usually surrounding by attacking players who are going to stop him from getting forward as much as he may have done in the past. One of those players is Cristiano Ronaldo, someone who helped Ramsey settle during the early days.
That has left him in a position where he is playing from time to time, but is certainly not a regular in the team. He is also replaceable, and that has led to rumours surrounding a move for him. There have been many different clubs linked with Ramsey, all of which are back in the Premier League.
Could Ramsey Head Back to North London?
One of the strongest rumours during the early part of the summer has been a move for Ramsey to Tottenham, which would raise more eyebrows that his move to Juventus last summer. Having spent many years at Arsenal, he would be crossing the divide to go to Tottenham, a move that would not go down well with fans of Arsenal.
Having said that, you can see why Tottenham would be interested, because he is exactly the type of player they need. Someone to control the midfield, win the ball back and find the more creative members of the team to set off an attack.
Do Manchester United Need Ramsey?
Of the three Premier League teams that have been linked with Ramsey so far, Manchester United are certainly the team in the best position as far as the Premier League standings go. They are also the only team to be able to offer Ramsey Champions League football next season if things go to plan between now and the end of the season.
United are on course for the top four this season and will be aiming for that next season too. They have played well in recent weeks and those using betting offers new account holders can claim will no doubt see Manchester United as a serious top four contender moving forward.
Just like Tottenham, they will see the centre of midfield as an area they could improve over the summer, something that Ramsey would solve for them.
Could Ramsey Play a Part in the Newcastle Rebuild?
There has been much talk about the future of Newcastle United and who they are going to sign when the takeover is completed. However, the takeover hasn’t actually been completed yet, so questions have to be answered.
The club allegedly have big plans, and a competent central midfielder with Premier League experience such as Aaron Ramsey could be a perfect fit for The Magpies. Their takeover needs completing, but if that happens then look out for Newcastle making a move for Ramsey.
