The agent of Matthijs De Ligt has confirmed that the player has reached an agreement with Juventus.

The 19-year-old has been the subject of many transfer rumours this summer with reports claiming he was moving to Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and now Juventus.

Sky Sport Italia and various other outlets in Italy have maintained that the Bianconeri are well in the lead to sign the young centre-back and his agent has now confirmed that an agreement is in place.

“Matthijs De Ligt has agreeed terms with Juventus and now it’s up to Ajax on how they deal with the situtation,” Mino Raiola told De Telegraaf newspaper.

The report claims De Ligt had an unofficial agreement with Ajax to leave for between €45-50m this summer, provided he remained with Ajax for a further season.

Juventus have reportedly had a €50m offer turned down by the Dutch champions and are expected to return with another formal bid this week as the club look to have De Ligt in pre-season training before Wednesday.

For his part, Raiola has confirmed that De Ligt will not sit out training with Ajax to try and force a transfer.

“That’s out of the question and so is arbitration, that’s not his style,” Raiola clarified.
