Juventus have confirmed Cristiano Ronaldo has picked up a ‘minor’ thigh injury while on international duty.

The Juve forward pulled up in Portugal’s 1-1 draw against Serbia last night and initial reports speculated that he had torn a hamstring.

According to Sky Italia, Ronaldo underwent initial tests in Portugal yesterday and is expected to return to Turin tomorrow.

Juventus have since confirmed the details of the injury in a statement via the clubs official website:

After being forced to go out during the 30th minute of the match between Portugal and Serbia (Euro 2020 Qualifier), Cristiano Ronaldo underwent examinations in Portugal that showed an apparent minor injury to his right thigh flexors. His condition will be monitored and will be subjected to new investigations to define the resumption of competitive activity.

Sky speculate that this will put CR7 at risk for Juve’s Serie A games against Empoli and Cagliari while he could return for matches against AC Milan and Ajax in the Champions League.
