Former Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo revealed that he played five games with just his left foot due to a right knee injury.
The Bianconeri legend was speaking as part of the Bianconeri’s ‘At Home with Ju’ video series on JTV and appeared on the latest edition, alongside former teammates Andrea Barzagli and Alessandro Matri.
The light-hearted discussion began with Barzagli revealing the Juve plays habit of playing practical jokes on one another.
“I did a few practical jokes, but I suffered many, ” Barzagli admitted, “especially last year by the South Americans. One day I found the car full of attached confetti, I had to wash it five times! ”
Talk turned to their time on the pitch with praise for Pirlo’s vision and the role he played in the Juve midfielder.
“Pirlo had eyes everywhere, he was the best in a tactical sense and for his game vision too,” Barzagli explained.
“I only played some games with my left foot,” Pirlo replied, “I had problems with my right knee and I only used the other foot.”
“I remember that against Lecce, Novara, but once also against Lazio and Napoli.”
The trio also revealed their favourite goals scored in Juventus colours.
“In the Italian Cup final against Lazio, my last in the black and white shirt that allowed us to win a trophy,” Matri explained.
“The penalty in the Italian Cup against Inter Milan. A special emotion,” Barzagli added.
“The goal against Torino in the derby in the last seconds of the game, It was a great joy,” Pirlo finished.
