The latest reports from Sky Sport Italia suggest that Cristiano Ronaldo will ask Real Madrid for a transfer to Juventus.

Reports from Marca earlier today suggested agent Jorge Mendes had been called back to Madrid to meet with Real President Florentino Perez to clarify what was happening with his client.

Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that Ronaldo genuinely wishes to leave Madrid and the recent talks with Juve were not a ruse to get a pay rise – Ronaldo seeks a new challenge elsewhere.

The ‘release clause’ in CR7’s contract, reportedly €100m introduced in January, is in fact more of a ‘gentlemen’s agreement and it excludes clubs such as Manchester United, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Di Marzio goes on to report that Juve are increasingly confident and that the club are waiting to hear Real’s terms before making an offer for Ronaldo.
