Fiorentina have confirmed that Federico Bernardeschi will not be renewing his contract and has asked to leave the club, as Juventus prepare to make a bid for the player.

Bernardeschi’s agent Beppe Bozzo met with Fiorentina Director Pantaleo Corvino earlier today and informed him of his client’s intention to leave the club.

“Bozzo told us that Bernardeschi has no intention of renewing his contract, despite a very important proposal on the table. He wants to leave,” Corvino told Sky Sport.

“Juventus? Federico is part of Italian football heritage and we have the privilege of his presence. We’ll see what to do…”

The Bianconeri are believed to be well ahead in the race to sign the player who reportedly prefers a move to Turin.

Initial reports suggested Juve may offer Tomas Rinon or Stefano Stuaro in exchange for the player, however Fiorentina may hold out for the €40m they value Bernardeschi at.

La Stampa previously reported that Allegri wants Bernardeschi ahead of the summer retreat which begins in a few weeks’ time, leading to suggestions that Juve will go all-out to sign Bernardeschi in the days ahead.
