Juventus play Cesena in a pre-season friendly, their second game under new coach Max Allegri. Juventus.com announced the starting formation yesterday with Andrea Pirlo, Fernando Llorente and Sebastian Giovinco set to start, while new signing Roberto Pereyra will play his first game in Juve colours.

I wouldn’t sell Ogbonna just yet, would be a little too soon. Look at how a little patience changed our view on Bonucci.

Ogbonna blows. The sooner people realize this, the sooner we can get rid of him. Honestly, Im pretty sure the only reason we bought Ogbonna was to add another black player to our mostly white team. A mostly white team that has quite a few racist fans. I see his purchase as a “suck this racist drughi” type of transfer.
Hahaha it made me laugh but i thought the reason we bought him was because we didn’t have pace in our defense, and Bayern showed us that. Ogbonna has pace but lacks consistency.
caceres is faster than him and a better cb. mustafi is also faster than him and also a better cb

Ogbonna wasn’t great but caceres was just as bad.. Just luckier that his mistakes were normally followed by either a last ditch tackle by one of the other defenders, good keeping or an opponent cocking up.. Not even bothering to go into it again because it’s the same people blinded by how much they like him defending him with the same points every time. He’s simply not good enough (and before you say anything im not saying ogbonna is either)
Caceres is a great backup. Unlike Ogbonna, the times he actually played he did his role quite well. Ogbonna on the other hand made many mistakes.

Mustafi hasn’t shown anything yet at Juve, we all wanted Ogbonna after his last season for Torino.. And yes Caceres has pace, but i will never think of him as a starter.
ogbonna had a poor season at torino too but everyone attributed it to torino being a poor team. no one is saying he’s a starter but he’s a quality backup. he can play all along the back line and puts in good performances and has no problem accepting his role in the team as a sub

the main problem last preseason was that the defense was shaky and conceded stupid goals. that continued on into the season up until october or november

My honest hope for the season is 3rd or up with a quarter/semi final or further run in the CL and that was my hope even before conte left because I think even with him we would have struggled to win the league again anyway.

I think its realistic enough, at least QFs and 3rd, we haven’t lost that much without conte, if we keep Vidal and maybe add another striker.. I read we were after borini who I would love! He was great at Roma and did very well for Sunderland last season too so would be a great back up
QF’s absolute max .. I don;t see us reaching the semi’s simply based on the teams that have been in those games the last few years and the teams that have won the whole thing… Madrid is definitely the favorite to win it again, with Chelsea, Barca, Man City and PSG and Bayern all going deep ..

Madrid won last pre seaons America cup and guess what? they went on to win the CL. Chelsea got second place and got to the semis.
