Gigi Buffon kept Juventus in the match while Claudio Marchisio’s perfect backheel bought Juve level but ultimately, it wasn’t enough.

Gigi Buffon
Kept Juve in the match with a string of brilliant saves, once again showing just how important he still is to the Bianconeri. A remarkable performance on this night.
7.0 / 10
Stephan Lichtsteiner
Really struggled against Neymar early on but stepped up his game as the match progressed. Spent most of the night in his own half but when he did get forward, he played a vital part in Juve’s equaliser.
6.5 / 10
Leonardo Bonucci
Was always going to have a difficult night against the Barcelona MSN front line. Did well to keep Suarez contained for a large part of the game and couldn’t be held accountable for any of the Barca goals.
6.5 / 10
Andrea Barzagli
Stepped in for Chiellini at the last minute and made some truly decisive interceptions and clearances to deny Barca.
7.0 / 10
Patrice Evra
An underrated contribution. Worked hard to keep Suarez in check and when he did get forward, he provided some teasing balls into the Barca box.
6.5 / 10
Claudio Marchisio
Great performance in midfield. Had soem decent shots from distance before producing a perfect backheel to open up Barcelona for the Juve equaliser.
7.0 / 10
Andrea Pirlo
Disappointing performance on the night, failed to make any telling contribution to the team.
6.0/10
Paul Pogba
Struggled at the start of the game but had some decent spells where he had some influence. Had a decent penalty appeal turned down.
6.5/10
Arturo Vidal
Hard-working but uncontrolled at times. Made some reckless challenges but the Barca players did go down awfully easily.
6.5 /10
Alvaro morata
Immense performance. Ran down the flanks and switched to the centre to cause Mascherano and Pique problems. Took his goal with a cool finish.
7.5 / 10
Carlos Tevez
A quiet night by his usual high-standards. Played his part in the Juve equaliser but struggled to contribute anything else of note.

Juve need players with pace in the future like Darmian and Oscar.
Yeah we need more speed, explosiveness. Like Morata or Pogba, they can suddenly break loose and sprint all the way with hardly anyone able to stop them.
In any case, we need to continue rejuvenating our team. The core of our team is in their late twenties/early thirties, in a few seasons we really will need younger players who start regularly
really hoping we get darmian. as for oscar, he has talent but he’s inconsistent. i would kill to get de bruyne though
No thanks, we don’t need Oscar.
now i understand why allegri of milans dumped andrea pirlo. Pirlo could no longer cope with speedy opponent. But alas, Juventus still need him for tutoring our own Principino and another youth come our way. he will be our coach-player. Play Pirlo in a slow pace games like in serie A, but limit his role in europe stages. Love him so much. LEGENDS.
Yeah Pirlo isn’t really suited to the speed of CL games, but speed never was his strong side. Anyway, I don’t see Pirlo longer than one more season at Juve, highly likely that both he and Tevez will leave at the end of next season.
So yes we will need strong players to replace them. Hopefully Morata stays and Dybala turns out great, then we won’t have to miss Tevez too much.
You still don’t just dump Pirlo like they did though, it’s as disrespectful as it was with Juve and Del Piero. Milan should have given Pirlo the extension he wanted and play him in Serie A games, like we hopefully will do if he stays next season. He might be a good sub for CL games late in the game.
couldnt agree more with you sir. we still need his calmness, pin point pass and his tutelage for the youngster.
I very much agree more with your rating. I thought other journalists/newspapers were really off the mark regarding Pogba, Evra and Lich. Pirlo and Tevez were not impactful. Vidal was awful and he’s lucky to not have been given a second yellow after 15 minutes. Bonucci and Barza were solid individually, but the team defense and organization were unusually bad. As much as I love Pirlo, I think he’s hurting more than helping these days. Allegri has little choice but to start Pirlo in important games out of respect for the legend. I doubt he’ll accept a role as a substitute — he made 19 starts and 1 sub appearance this season.
