Bizarre news reports from Sky News and UK press have linked Juventus with a move for Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The Guardian newspaper reported a brief segment on the strange story that circulated yesterday in their Football transfer rumours section:

“With their nerves already jangling thanks to the white-knuckle ride that is the title race, Liverpool fans will be further traumatised by rumours suggesting Juventus have their beady eye on Mohamed Salah. Word on the outer reaches of cyberspace suggests the Italian champions have earmarked the Egyptian as a potential £175m replacement for Paolo Dybala, who has scored just twice in 20 appearances for the club this season.” Guardian

Today, Sky News Arabia has followed up the rumour with a claim of their own, suggesting that the Bianconeri are prepared to spend in excess of €200m for Egyptian star.

Sky suggest that Juventus have been guided in some way by Cristiano Ronaldo who has ‘given the green light’ to Juve officials to start negotiations.

The story has since spread to the usual tabloids and has been picked up the BBC as well as various UK tabloids, but no reliable outlets in Italy have commented on the report.
