Manchester United are linked with a move for Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic following the collapse of his proposed move to Qatar.

The 33 year-old was on the verge of agreeing a switch to the Qatar Stars League but talks have reportedly stalled and the move is effectively off.

United were close to agreeing a move for Mandzukic in the summer before he refused an offer in favour of staying at Juventus.

The Independent and The Guardian now write that Coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to sign the Croatian striker after injuries left them their striker force depleted.

Mandzukic has trained with the team but was left out of the last two match squads to conclude his future.
