Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi revealed he was in ‘shock’ and ‘psychotic’ after testing positive for COVID-19.

The Frenchman was among a trio of Bianconeri players to test positive for Coronavirus and revealed the impact it had when speaking to former teammate, Medhi Benatia.

“Honestly it’s hard,” Matuidi began, “When I was positive I couldn’t even go out shopping, when I started again then I was psychotic.

“You always try to make sure that people are not too close, you have to be mentally strong. It will take time, this is a situation new for all of us. ”

Matuidi tested positive alongside teammates Daniele Rugani and Paulo Dybala.

“I was in shock, I feared for my family and friends,” he continued, “It was difficult for them, but I was able to reassure them.

“It is not a good time, we really want this to end as soon as possible. I wonder what will happen to the football and everyday life “.
