Rodrigo Bentancur has confirmed his move to Juve this summer, declaring “With Juventus, it’s all done.”
The 19-year-old Uruguayan has long been tipped to join the Bianconeri, given that Juve have retained an option on the player as part of a deal that saw Carlos Tevez return to Boca Juniors two summers back. Juve Director Beppe Marotta confirmed last year that Bentancur was a target for the club: “We have an option on him from the Tevez deal with Boca Juniors; an option that we will exercise next season.”
Speaking today, Bentancur confirmed the deal is all but complete: “With Juventus, it’s all done,” he told ESPN Radio.
“You’ll see it soon, when I come to Turin for a medical. Now I just want to be quiet and think about Boca: I want to become a champion with this shirt.
“My family also help me keep my feet on the ground. I want to leave this club with a trophy. From here on, I’ll play to the death.”
There are still some details that need to be confirmed, with differing reports on the total value of the deal. It was initially suggested that Juve will pay €9.5m for Bentancur, with a further €2m in bonuses. There has been mention of Boca getting up to 50% of any future sale but that seems a remarkably high percentage, given the way Juve tend to operate.
Bentancur is expected in Turin in the coming month to complete his Juve medical before joining the club proper in the summer. It’s also been reported that he may go straight out on loan to another Serie A side to gain experience and playing time.
50% of any sale seems ridiculously much. We are buying him for 11,5million now, if we sell him later for let’s say 30mill, we would have to send 15mill of that to Boca. That means Boca gets 26,5mill for Bentancur and Juve a lousy 3,5mill.
No way that is included in the contract
Agreed on all points, no way juventus management is this foolish. I can see if boca received maybe 10% but that’s about all you’ll get. This kid looks really promising, given his experience I don’t think they will send him out on loan. Flipside being a fight for minutes with the regulars. It’s a smart move considering khedira will be 31 marchisio 32.
he doesnt seem such a big talent from this video,This is supposed to be his best moments in one video but it’s filled with errors, bad passing and nothing magical! Why so much talk about this kid? i swear something gets posted every month about this guy, and he seems like nothing special from videos ive seen like this
Not getting me excited either. But maybe it’s a sign of the paucity of affordable talent worldwide that even someone who just does the basics well enough is in demand?
I think you guys are missing the main points on this kid. He was pretty much 19 years old playing as a starter for arguably the biggest club in South America. His vision and movement are execellent, passing is pretty good but what I like the most is the amount of ground he covers. Ngolo Kante will never get you 10 goals and 10 assists but after Hazard he is probably the second most important player on that team. This kid reminds me of Rabiot kind off, perhaps he has more potential but time will tell. I am very excited about this transfer, the core of young players elevates higher every year.
That is true, i over looked the ground he covers. We’ll see I mean there is potential
Here’s something we both can look forward to Gerald.

Lol indeed! though I hope we can still get Tolisso, even if we do get Tielmans. i’m really not that excited about Verratti.
