Juventus have met with the agents of Sampdoria’s Roberto Soriano and Empoli’s Ricarco Saponara.
The Bianconeri have been linked with both the Italian talents in recent months and Sky Italia report that the club met with the players agents yesterday.
Sky report that there is strong interest in Saponara in particular, although a move in January would be tricky.
According to Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio Juve will continue their talks with Empoli over the coming days with a view to completing a deal in June.
Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi responded to the transfer rumours just last week, confirming Juve’s interest in the player.
“Juve? We say that Juve had words of appreciation for him and for us: we have been complimented when we brought him back from Milan, certainly they like him very much.
“Let’s see if in June this will turn into something concrete. Sure, Juve consider him and we enjoy him,” Corsi told Calciomercato.com.
I’d prefer Saponara of the two, but i’m not so sure either willa arrive.
That ellusive 3/4 position has never been filled properly. A guy called Diego would fill it very well right now, shame we got rid of him.
I like the system we use – the 3-5-2 is a strong formation that looked stale until we revitalised it with new components, namely Khedira, Dybala, Mandzukic, Sandro and to a certain extent, Cuadrado who draws defenders to him, if nothing else.
It’d be nice to have the option of fielding a 4-3-1-2 when needed but for now, we look solid
I quite liked Diego in turn, my friend. However, I have always believed that we let him move so cheaply because included in the deal was the option to pick up Barzagli, whom we grabbed the following Winter mercato after Diego’s move. We paid nowhere near his value. Yet perhaps that was accounted for with the Diego cheap sale…Who knows what goes on behind the shadows, yet it is certainly my conclusion of that saga, always has been, for we picked up Wolfsburg’s long standing starting CB, at a good age, for 300k.
Eager for us to show more interest in Saponara…
that was criminal – to see a player of that character to leave because of the system we changed to. But as you so rightly say, we got one of the best CB’s in the world in exchange so….even steven.
I’m trying to figure if we are going to invest in a playmaker and finally achieve the vision of Allegri’s Juve. Seems we have a good solid system that now works after years of fine tuning – it has its limitations and strengths – Will that 3/4 bring us that little bit extra if we were to switch it up?
Despite my thoughts at the tail end of last year, i;m inclined to see Hernanes play once again and try and return to his scintillating Lazio form. He has it in him, but he looks like a player who thrives on confidence and support from the fans. Perhaps one last try in the coming weeks ?
Soriano and Saponara….i’m interested in the latter, he looks a real prospect. Young, Italian….would fit in perfectly with this Juve side. Let’s keep our fingers crossed and see what happens in the summer
