Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi believes PSG striker Edinson Cavani will arrive at Juventus.

While there’s not a lot to actually go on, Moggi simply tweeted the words ‘#Cavani arriva alla #Juventus’ from his personal account yesterday evening:

It’s definitely not a story in itself, but perhaps ‘Lucky Luciano’ knows something we don’t? It’s not the first time he’s mentioned potential Juve signings, his last cryptic prediction being that ‘Juve will sign a Colombian’ in 2014. While that kept people guessing for the best part of the summer, the Bianconeri did eventually sign promising Colombian youngster Andrés Felipe Tello Muñoz, albeit on loan.

There’s no smoke without fire, and while Moggi’s prediction may be way off the mark, it might also tie in with some comments made by current Juve sporting director Beppe Marotta. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport after Juve qualification to the Champions League semi-finals, Marotta was quoted as saying “We’ve not had any contact with Paris Saint-Germain for Cavani, but if he were to be placed on the market, then we would have a little chat.”

What next? It’s difficult to say, but there’s no denying Cavani doesn’t look particular happy in Paris at present. Despite all this, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi made it quite clear that Cavani is not going anywhere for the moment.

“I have not held talks with Cavani over his future. He is a young player and is the future of PSG,” Al Khelaifi told Le Parisien a few days ago.”A €50m offer from Manchester United? I would not even look at such a bid.”

That rules Juve out then….unless they were to have some kind of bargaining chip ?
