Max Allegri has admitted Juventus is missing some of their injured players after they dropped points for the second time in as many games against AS Roma.
The Bianconeri needed to win against the Giallorossi after dropping points to Sampdoria last Monday.
Their first game of the season ended in a 3-0 win against Sassuolo and it was mostly thanks to the performance of Angel di Maria.
He has missed their last two matches, and they have struggled, winning none.
Paul Pogba is another Juve player on the sidelines now alongside the very reliable Federico Chiesa who has been out since the start of this year.
If Juve had these players in their squad to face Roma, the result might have been different.
After the game, Allegri told reporters, as quoted by Calciomercato:
“It’s important to recover Chiesa, Pogba, Di Maria. I never talk about the absentees but it’s a numerical question, they are important players, they have technical quality, they tear, then they give us more solutions.”
Juve FC Says
We are missing so many key players and we need them to return to fitness soon.
However, injuries are a part of the game and we cannot use them as an excuse.
More players will get injured, so our fit players must show they are good enough to help the team.
players right now are good enough for top 4, allegri is not.
Martinn , I’m not sure about that
Allegri is not the best manager for sure, but Juve doesn’t have any good wingers in the team right now. Cuadrado has become so slow and misses alot , doesn’t assit at all, Kostic was terrible and players on the bench are even worse. Zakaria ain’t good enough , he doesnt add any creativity. Juve needs a regista to allow locatelli advance more, we saw what happens when he goes forward , almost always a goal or an assit . Pogba , Di Maria , Chiesa and Paredes will definitely change this team around .
@Brian: Zakaria was not brought in to add creativity but to win balls and pass…Kostic is Allegri’s choice…another headless chicken with no output…laughable that Allegri compared him to Costa who could beat players with his eyes closed…the regista that Allegri claims to be looking for is Rovella..he has been very good in that role…check Barcelona game,,has more Serie A experience than Fagioli and Miretti and has good passing range…Juve’s best midfield would be Pogba, Rovella, Locatelli…of course Chiesa, Di Maria and Pogba are really good but there has to be a system of attacking play…Allegri just relies on individual skills …there is no pattern of attacking play….Paredes is very average..another side passer..Allegri likes him for his calma calma football and is 28 yr young
Best solution for Juve to win games, need all Injured players to come back, especially Chiesa, Dimaria and Pogba.
