Paulo Dybala says he feels ‘ very lucky’ to play for Juventus and explains the motivations behind his goal celebration.

The Juve forward spoke with Adidas and explained what it means to be at Juventus and the origins behind his mask celebration.

“My mask gesture isn’t so much a goal celebration but rather a message,” he said at an Adidas event.

“It’s an ideal mask, which gladiators wore to fight. In Doha against Milan, after we lost Supercoppa, the idea of this celebration was born.

“My best goal? The one at Lazio last season. It was my most creative and I did well to resist the pressure of two opponents. It gave me incredible joy for how the game had developed.

“I joined Juventus three years ago. I was 21 at the time so I chose the No 21, which has very important history at Juventus.

“Then the club asked me to take the No 10 and it wasn’t an easy decision because I knew the criticism would’ve been even harsher.

“Still, after thinking about it I accepted the challenge. I feel very lucky to be at a great club.

“Life outside of football? It’s important to focus on what comes next. You have to train well and eat properly with a view to your upcoming commitments.”
