Atalanta have confirmed Juve’s interest in midfielder Bryan Cristante while Mattia Caldara and Leonardo Spinazzola are heading back to Turin in the summer.
Orobici CEO Luca Percassi spoke with Tuttosport about the stellar season they’ve enjoyed and the numerous transfer links for Atalanta players.
“Allegri really likes Cristante, as he really launched his career at Milan. We’ll see how it pans out,” Percassi told the Turin based daily.
“Gomez? We have not received offers from Liverpool for Gomez, even if we know that our players who impress in Bergamo tend to attract attention from the bigger clubs.
“We must not lose our identity and showed already we’ve been able to maintain that even after important sales. After all, there are clubs with the kind of revenue we simply cannot compete with.
“We have an excellent rapport with Juventus and also worked with them when planning our stadium project.”
“Spinazzola? When he arrived, he was a player owned by Juve, but when he returns to Turin it’ll be as a player who belongs at Juve. Mattia Caldara is also extraordinary and will be the future of the Nazionale.”
Not really fond on this move. Cristante is an average player, the rest of Atalantas squad makes him look better than he actually is. Praet is a much much better prospect.
I cannot say that I have seen a huge amount of either, mate…yet I was aware of our interest in Dennis a couple of years back, and his form in Belgium was very promising, sweeping awards and also gaining regular appreciation for the various youth sides of his nation.
he does not yet seem to have adjusted to Serie A. Could be management, could be that he looked great when young and in a weaker league and is now stagnating. Could be tactical misdeployment. I remember watching him and thinking he was a player, classy on the ball…and talent never really leaves. Just sometimes gets shuffled away as other mental and emotional and physical issues take precedence.
Still…in terms of potency in Serie A, Cristante appears a fair way ahead. I mean tangible output with the ball at his feet.
We have no natural back-up to Pjanic. Nor do we have the same for Dybala, though I suspect Pjanic would be fine in a 4-3-1-2.
Our most pressing needs are a natural DM – Mandragora will be fine for me. And Pjanic and Dybala apprentices. Also a natural prima punta able to move far more freely than Mario.
