Arturo Vidal has dismissed any speculation that he might depart Juventus this summer, declaring ‘why would I want to leave?’
The Chilean midfielder was linked with a move away from Turin last summer with Manchester United being the most likely destination and talk has continued over a possible move at the end of the current season.
Speaking to Las Ultimas Noticias, Vidal all but ruled out a departure.
“For a player the most important thing is to win trophies and leave a mark on people’s memories,” Vidal told the Chilean daily.
“It is hard to think about leaving when you have been crowned champions and you are part of a great team.
“The people love me, I’m fine in Turin and my family feel at home. Why would I want to leave? I get on well with everyone.
“The Champions League is a dream in which I believe, one we can fulfil step-by-step.
“We have to get past Borussia first. God willing we can get to the Quarter Finals, and from there anything can happen, even if our main goal is the League.”
I agree with him…. Playing for Juve is still a privledge. It’s a great club and one of the best in Europe.. When you play for Juve, you still get world wide exposure as a player and everyone knows who our players are … The league isn’t the greatest, but Juve play to a full stadium every week, whether it’s at home or on the road… We have tons of world class talent and the club wants to win.. In my opinion, playing for Juve these days is like playing for Bayern or PSG. These 3 teams essentially dominate a one team league and all three are all a potential force every year, with Bayern being the best of the trio of course .. Let’s see what happens.
That’s exactly what I’ve been asking from anyone who said he would leave.
