Former Inter Milan player Beppe Bergomi has expressed support for Manuel Locatelli’s celebration after scoring the winning goal that helped Juventus defeat AC Milan over the weekend.
Locatelli, who originally came through the Milan system and made his professional debut with the Rossoneri, later left the club to further his development at Sassuolo. Subsequently, he was signed by Juventus from Sassuolo, and he has been a key player in their lineup ever since.
Now representing one of the top clubs in Europe, Locatelli played a crucial role in helping Juventus secure victory against his former team. His deflected shot resulted in the only goal of the match, and his celebration, while potentially seen as a sign of disrespect against his former club, has gained support from individuals like Beppe Bergomi.
He said, as quoted by Tuttojuve:
“Locatelli? It’s right to celebrate because Juventus hadn’t won a direct clash against Milan for some time and this was a real direct clash. It’s a result very important for Juventus.”
Juve FC Says
Locatelli now plays for us, so his loyalty lies with us and not with AC Milan. We pay his salary, so he has every right to celebrate our goal.
He came from sassuolo to juve…hence the celebration
