Federico Bernardeschi’s agent Beppe Bozzo says his client has “no intention of leaving Juventus” despite links with Barcelona in the past.
The 26-year-old forward has been linked with a move away from Turin in the summer with various Italian papers suggesting he may be on the players sacrificed to free up funds for midfield investment.
Despite the rumours, Bernardeschi’s agent insists his future remains in Turin with no talks having taken place with other clubs.
“I have not met managers from other clubs,” Bozzo told CalcioMercato, “the only talks that came up were with Barcelona, more an exchange of ideas than anything else.
“Federico is annoyed to read that he could leave, but he knows two things: First, that, especially in a period like this, journalistic speculations abound. Second, he has no intention of leaving Juve.
“Not now that, if he recovers, the bianconeri could find themselves without Higuain. So Federico can play both externally, competing with Douglas Costa, and as a false nine.
“I’m not a coach, so I don’t dare say what Sarri has to do. I say that playing three times a week, and since there is the Champions League, he should find space.
“I say he has always done well, both when he started the game and when he came in to replace someone. If you look at the results he has always been on the field when the result has changed for the better.
“Juventus have always defended him and there has been no game, even those in which he was booed by a part of the public, in which Sarri did not recognize his usefulness.
“The coach said that only over time will we see Bernardeschi’s true value. I think that with personality and fortitude, as well as physical strength, true values come out – Does anyone really believe that Juve spent forty million on him, snatching him from a slew of other clubs, for nothing?
“Rather, it’s a different discussio, namely that Bernardeschi has had to adapt to a lot of different roles from the outside as it is. I say that we are faced with the paradox: in the National team he is a starter, is appreciated by the coach and well-liked by everyone, while elsewhere he is contested.
“When you play for certain clubs it is you who must give something more, Juve wants to be first in everything. But if you ask within the club, from President Agnelli to the last of the employees, how much Bernardeschi is committed to Juve, everyone will say ‘completely’.”
