The transfer involving AC Milan, Juventus and the exchange of Leonardo Bonucci, Mattia Caldara and Gonzalo Higuain is almost complete.

The news came out of the blue, first reported by Sportitalia, and has seemingly developed from headline and rumour to a substantial player exchange.

Gonzalo Higuain was pictured arriving in Milan last night amidst jubilant crowds, his first words being:

“I would like to thank all the Juventus fans who have supported me and shown me affection in the last two years.”

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport and various other newspapers and TV Channels, Pipa will join Milan on loan for €18m with an option to buy outright at €36m after 12 months and make the move permanent.

Mattia Caldara was pictured leaving Juve’s hotel in the US last night, seemingly to return to Milan and undergo his medical.

Bonucci, for his part, is expected to take a significant pay-cut, lowering his salary from €7.5m to €5.5-6m in order to facilitate a return to Juventus.
