Goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon could extend his contract with Juventus, tying him to the club until 2021.

The 43-year-old returned to Turin last summer and while his role has been limited, he has made important saves in the games in which he featured.

Tuttosport now report that Buffon could opt to extend his playing his career by signing a one-year extension with Juve, taking him to June 2021.

Speaking in a recent interview on the Tika-Taka show, Gigi insisted that he wasn’t ready to retire from football just yet.

“Right now I’m in a psychological and physical condition where I still feel like an important player.

“I haven’t yet examined my own future and I also have the serenity to psychoanalyse and evaluate my own performances.

“When I realise I can’t play like I want, I will sit down with the club and tell them it’s over.
